Want your child to learn chess but aren’t sure where to start? Our Chess Starters Program is designed for brand-new players with little to no experience. Build your child’s chess skills from the comfort of home with fun, interactive lessons!

How It Works

  • Live Virtual Classes: Weekly sessions held once a week via Zoom (75 minutes per class).

  • Two Levels to Choose From: Suitable for kids as young as 5 years old.

  • Interactive Learning: Your child will learn chess basics through engaging lessons and games with other beginners.

  • Flexible Options: Pick from multiple time-slots, choose the class time that fits your schedule.

Starters 1

For complete beginners, covering the basics like how pieces move, board set-up and checkmate. 

Runs September 26th - November 14th, 2026

Starters 2

For those who know the basic rules and are ready for more advanced rules like castling and stalemates.   

Runs November 18th – January 16th, 2027​

Each class runs for 7 weeks, with one engaging lesson per week. Your child will be playing chess right away through fun, interactive mini-games!

The Perfect Start: Our 416 Chess Starters Program 

If your child is new to chess, we recommend our 416 Chess Starters Program, specially designed for brand-new players.

We've divided our term into two sessions, and while your child can join either- we suggest starting with Starters in Session 1 for the best learning experience.
